Community Support Supervisor

Department: Community Living Resources
Location: Elmhurst, IL

**Job Summary: **
The Community Support Supervisor (CSS) provides oversight of 2 community-based homes/programs and directly supervises all Direct Support Professional (DSP) team members assigned to those homes. The CSS ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards set by the relevant bodies like DHS, DCFS, IDPH, and BQM. This role involves mentoring, training, and coaching DSPs to deliver exceptional customer service and person-centered supports.

**Leadership: **
- Upholds agency mission and values in interactions with people supported, families, and team members.
- Ensures adherence to agency policies and procedures by all team members.
- Maintains integrity and professionalism in all communications.
- Coaches and educates DSPs on required standards and takes corrective action when necessary.
- Conducts onboarding and training for new DSP team members.
- Familiarity with the AFSCME contract is preferred.

**Team:**
- Conducts and documents DSP training.
- Facilitates weekly team meetings and ensures completion of assigned tasks.
- Oversees day-to-day operations and systems in the homes.
- Manages home schedules and ensures appropriate coverage.
- Monitors compliance with the AFSCME agreement and agency guidelines.

**Advocacy: **
- Promotes meaningful experiences and active engagement of people supported.
- Supports person-centered practices and addresses critical service needs.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to address concerns effectively.

**Community Partnership: **
- Encourages community participation to build partnerships and relationships.
- Ensures compliance with relevant standards and maintains a positive representation in the community.

**Position Requirements: **
The CSS must embody the mission of the organization, possess leadership skills, and adapt to field advancements. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Comfort with independent work and flexibility in a fast-paced environment is required. The CSS must meet deadlines and adhere to program guidelines.

**Education/Certification: **
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Valid Illinois Driver's License required.
- Certification/Licensure: Must successfully complete specified checks and required training.

**Experience: **
- Previous Direct Support Job Experience required.
- 3-5 years of previous supervisor experience preferred.
- 1-3 years of previous supervisor experience required or preferred.

**Abilities:**
- Ability to lift, support individuals in transfer, drive, and perform physical tasks.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to understand written information.
- Availability to respond to on-call duties is necessary.
- Some locations may require PACE certification.

**Salary**

$21.88 per hour
